Personal Philosophy:

I have a strong belief in that every child counts, every child deserves the best possible care and education that one can be given. I value setting foundations for lifelong learning and that the first three years in life is the most important experiences in building positive affirmations for a future life.

I believe we need to get it right in the first few years so that your child can do well at school, have good social skills and lead a happy and full life with goals and dreams.

I value the importance’s play plays on learning and developing. It is an opportunity for children to act out and making sense of the world around them. Each and every day they watch, listen, feel what is surrounding them and this is how children learn, then play is how they understand it and put it into their life.

This is very important to understand that what experiences we allow our children to explore will shape how their future will turn out.

I value as a manager having a open door policy were my time is always available to support, give advice, and grow each member of my team to be the best possible teacher that can be. I strongly believe in education as a key to becoming and maintain the best possible teachers. With knowledge comes power. You learn so much from either further study or weekly reading of important early childhood articles.

I have set up an appraisal system that allows every teacher to be current with readings and knowledge to ensure the children we care for are getting the best possible care available by enthusiastic educators.

My name is Jasmine De Monie, I am a qualified ECE and special needs teacher from Belgium. I am very proud to be part of the First Years Early Learning whānau!
I believe children are the biggest philosophers, they question everything and look at the world in a totally different way. I love learning together with children, we are role models for them, but they also teach us. They still possess the eyes filled with be wonderment, things we think are common, become special looking through their eyes.

It is such a privilege to work with children. I enjoy the natural curiosity they bring and I enjoy helping children explore this and helping to create life long learners.
